From Foundations to Finishes: A Look at Our Latest Renovation Projects For Kitchen, Bathrooms & Decks

Finished kitchen, bathroom and deck work around Lansing, Haslett and Okemos — before, after, and what was actually involved.

On cost, so it is answered here rather than buried: the best-evidenced figure this business has is whole-room and multi-trade restoration, which has run $2,550 to $4,348 across eight projects for eight different customers, with the full span from $1,465 to $6,538. Bathrooms are a different scale — the two full bathroom projects on record came to $12,000 and $17,501, and they are written as two prices rather than a range because two jobs cannot describe a distribution. Kitchens we cannot price honestly at all: the large ones on record were invoiced as a single line, so no component figure can be recovered.

Every project shown here was finished and invoiced. The CRM holds beautiful photographs of a $21,360 deck and a $12,456 basement that were quoted and never built, and those are not a portfolio.

‍

What do these projects have in common?

They were all quoted in writing before they started, with the scope set out room by room, and they all finished with a walk-through before the final balance was due. That matters more than any photograph on this page.

On the bathrooms in particular, the honest note: on a full gut you do not know what is behind the tub wall until it is open. Where we have found rot or damage mid-job it has gone to the customer in writing as a change order with its own price before we carried on - never as a surprise on the final invoice.

What does this kind of work cost?

It varies more than people want to hear, and anyone quoting a bathroom or kitchen from photographs is guessing. What we can say is that we quote labor and materials separately where you would rather buy your own finishes, and we put the payment schedule on the quote so there are no surprises about when money is due.
